Tell us a little bit about your background.

I am from a very small town in Alabama on the Alabama/Mississippi state line. In my senior class, there were less than 50 of us. I’ve always had an adventure bug, who doesn’t though? For me I think it comes from an aunt and uncle that always let us travel to see them wherever they lived. For a time that was Idaho, so I have had the privilege of seeing most of the west. When I turned 20, I moved to Reno, NV; then I moved on to Atlanta; and from Atlanta to Puerto Rico. It was a wonderful experience traveling and immersing myself in different cultures at a younger age. Now, I am knocking on 30’s door and I am happy to be back home in a small town in Alabama with my garden and plants for company!

What are your key accomplishments in your field/on the job?

For me, I didn’t start out in the traditional route to get to where I am as Accounting Manager. I don’t think many people realize, but our industry has a very complex structure. To save you the boring details, let's just say it’s a lot of tracking and projecting. What has brought my success is starting from the very bottom and working my way up. I say that because it has truly given me a unique understanding of how this business works. Every day I wake up doing this I note that as my key accomplishment, because I know the work it has taken to get here.

Why did you choose to work in this industry?

I actually graduated with an Associates because I had no idea what I wanted to do and didn’t want to waste money trying to pick something. In small town USA, Recruiting doesn’t have a very big booth at the career fair, if it has a booth at all. I found myself with the opportunity to intern in this industry because I happen to have family in the business; I don’t think I would have ever considered working in the industry had I not known someone.

Tell us about your approach to recruiting.

I am not on the recruiting end anymore, just the billing, but I can tell you that the people I see successful at recruiting, the ones we keep on our team, have a key motto of caring. It’s a delicate balance, but they care for the client and the candidate, and it has always translated into success.

Describe yourself using only film titles.

I am like many Little Women who are Fast and Furious with their work. I am not Divergent, rather very Allegiant.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

You’re never too late, too old, too tired, or too right to make a change!

What one song will you always know every word to?

I’m yours – Jason Mraz

What does a perfect vacation look like for you?

Hawaii - a lot of snorkeling, a lot of pineapples, and a lot waterfalls!

What is your favorite book or movie character?

It is cliché and common but Harry Potter books and movies. When I was growing up my uncle always played the audiobooks on road trips and we watched the movies after dinner. They feel familial.

Favorite quote?
“Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” Matthew 6:34

What would your pet say about you if we asked for a reference?

Unfortunately, my sweet girl is now an Angel, but if she were still here, she would say I am a stickler for the rules, but I am generous with the treats.
